Retail sales in Ireland increased 0.2% month-over-month in March 2026, following a 0.6% drop in February. The highest volume increases were recorded in electrical goods (+3.3%); hardware, paints & glass (+3%), and other retail sales (+2.4%) while the largest monthly volume decreases were seen in books, newspapers & stationery (-4.2%) and bars (-2.7%). In volume terms, fuel sales remained relatively stable, but the value soared 7.7%, reflecting  the inflation currently being experienced in the sector. Year-on-year, retail sales increased 1.6% in March 2026, following an upwardly revised 1.3% gain in February.

The SENSEX Index rose 609 points or 0.79 percent on Wednesday to close at 77496 points. Leading the gains are ITC (3.79%), Tech Mahindra (3.31%) and Indusind Bank (3.10%). Top losers were NTPC (-1.66%), ICICI Bank (-0.97%) and Bajaj Finserv (-0.96%).

Singapore’s domestic supply price index surged 21.6% year-over-year in March 2026, the sharpest increase since June 2022, as the Middle East war drove energy costs higher. The acceleration from an upwardly revised 2.4% rise in February was led by a 49.9% jump in mineral fuels. Additional upward pressure came from machinery & transport equipment (16.4% vs. 10.8% in February), chemicals & chemical products (4.3% vs. –8.7%), and manufactured goods (3.0% vs. 1.1%). On a monthly basis, the index climbed 16.1% in March, following a 3.7% increase in February, as oil prices soared 60.4%.

Singapore Domestic Supply Prices Surge Fastest Since 2022

The EU-standard Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) in Ireland rose 3.6% year-on-year in April 2026, unchanged from the previous month, according to preliminary estimates. Energy prices, however, accelerated  to 15.5% from 12.3% in March, reflecting upward pressures mainly linked to recent developments in the Middle East. In contrast, food price inflation moderated slightly, rising 2% compared with 2.3% in the previous month, while services also edged down to 2.9% from 3.3%. Excluding energy and unprocessed food, harmonised inflation is estimated to have edged down to 2.3% from 2.6%. On a monthly basis, harmonised consumer prices edged up 0.4% in March, down from 1.8% in the preceding period.
